Lunchtime Travel Quiz

Hello everyone! Are you ready to enjoy this summer? The lunchtime event “Travel Quiz” was held on July 4th. We prepared some interesting questions about other countries and travel. Did you have fun? We hope everyone who participated in the event enjoyed it and learned about travel. Some students got free food tickets at the E-cube cafe as prizes! Thank you to all the students who joined the event! Since we have many interesting activities from Monday to Friday, please join them when you have free time!! For those of you who are planning to travel this summer, this month’s activities would be perfect to get some information! We are all looking forward to seeing you soon!

The Science Show!

Hello everyone! We invited Professor Kimura as a special guest for a science show on June 18th. Lots of students joined the show and they were very excited about it! First, he gave a presentation about what experiment he was going to do, and explained about rust, slow reactions, fast reactions, the thermite process, the oxidization of hydrogen and the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. Students were able to join the experiment to make clouds by adiabatic expansion. After that, we enjoyed experimenting with explosions by using balloons and gas. We were surprised at the loud noise and fire which were produced, but we had a great time watching the exciting science show! Thank you very much to Professor Kimura for the interesting activity.

The Art & Craft Market

Hello everyone! Summer is just about here. E³ held the Art & Craft Market on May 21st and 22nd. Kinki University students’ handmade accessories, ceramics, post cards, drawings, calligraphy and much more were displayed everywhere in E³. We had a great time looking at all the various and unique art. Did you find anything cool? Thank you to all the students who participated in the market. Check out some of the photos below!

Next month’s activity theme is “Science”. All the E³ staff members are preparing for interesting and exciting activities. Also, we have invited Professor Kimura as a special guest for a science show! Special event in the village E3

May 15th Tuesday we held an event to honor our 500,000th visitor to the village E³[e-cube]. For our event we invited a special guest, the active and energetic Japanese celebrity Mr. Lou Oshiba. We held 2 sessions, a live interview and then a discussion about his volunteer work. Of course, Mr. Oshiba spoke entirely in English. For the live interview Mr. Oshiba spoke about his career and his experiences in foreign countries when he was younger. For the discussion time he talked about his volunteer work in African countries and also in Japan. All his stories were interesting, funny and powerful. More than 800 students came to hear Mr. Oshiba speak and they were all amazed by his stories and his sense of adventure in doing what he is interested in and not being too shy to speak English. 琉球國祭り太鼓 in 近畿大学英語村

みなさんこんにちは。

ただ今近畿大学英語村では一般公開が行われています。特に、今日は、参加者の方には特別になったのではないでしょうか。
本日のアクティビティは「沖縄」ということで、琉球國祭り太鼓兵庫支部に所属する本学学生の働きかけでサプライズ生演奏が行われました。
非常に迫力のあるパフォーマンスに、一般参加者、英語村スタッフ、近畿大学生も大喜びで演技に見入っていました。

Hello, everyone.

Today, at the Village E³[e-cube], we had a surprise performance of Ryukyukoku- Matsuri-Daiko(Okinawan Taiko Troop). The activity was studying about Okinawa, and a Village E³[e-cube] volunteer student made this special event come true!
It was an excellent performance and all participants of the “Open to Public” (this time of the year, the Village E³[e-cube] is open to public) were fascinated by the performance!

近畿大学英語村E³[e-cube] 一般公開

まもなく近畿大学英語村の一般公開の時期がやってまいりました。

近畿大学英語村は普段近畿大学生と教職員またはその同伴者のみの利用ですが、早春期間と夏休みの期間は一般の方々へも公開しています。
高校生以上ならどなたでも利用できるこの英語村は、一般公開中10代から80代まで幅広い年齢層の方々とお茶でも飲みながら英語で“チャット”（世間話）を楽しんだり、毎日テーマに沿った“アクティビティー”(文化教室)に参加したりと使い方は皆さんそれぞれ！！

今回のアクティビティーテーマは
月曜日：九州＆沖縄
火曜日：ポップカルチャー＆テクノロジー
水曜日：旅行
木曜日：アート&クラフト
金曜日：料理

このアクティビティーは毎日午後1時から開催しており参加費はもちろん無料！！
