We had a speech contest on October 10th. This year, we had six participants, and they made a speech for five minutes each. The title of the contest was "The best way to understand America is…" It was very difficult to choose because they were all very good. However, Daisuke Furukawa from the law department got first place. He told us the best way to understand America is power. His speech was full of confidence and persuasive. Second place was Keiko Maeda from the economics department, and third place was Arisu Maki from the literature, arts and cultural studies department. We appreciate all students who joined the contest and congratulations to Daisuke, Keiko, and Arisu! We hope lots of you will join the speech contest next year again!

Study Abroad: Life Changing Experience

Hello, everyone!

We enjoyed our second special speech event of the week, by Keith Lommel, Consul for Public Affairs and Director, Kansai American Center. He spent several years studying in Germany and Japan, and he told us about his great experiences and the good things about studying abroad. Also, he gave students a chance to ask questions for one hour. Students who are interested in studying abroad or English stayed at E-cube and asked him a lot of questions! We really appreciated hearing his great speech.

She told us her background, how she spends time in university, how we can improve English, and more. She is also a university student like you. Even though she is studying in America and the environment is different, she told us very important things!! We all appreciate having such a wonderful chance.
